Bridport Heritage Trails

Saxon Loop

Explore the paths and take in the buildings that tell the history of Bridport – from a Saxon settlement to a thriving market town and important centre for the manufacture of sailcloth, rope and nets. Three downloadable podcasts have been produced offering heritage insights to accompany this walk.

The walk is approximately 2.5 kms, allow 1 hour.

Bridport Green Route

A walking route around the heart of Bridport to promote health and encourage connection with nature and heritage for wellbeing.

The walk is approximately 3 miles in length and will take around 1-2 hours to complete.

Rivers Loop

Take time to explore the rivers that brought trade to the town and were harnessed by local industry. Along the way, enjoy the wildlife rich riverside corridors and treat yourselves with refreshments in West Bay. Two downloadable podcasts have been produced offering heritage insights to accompany this walk .

The walk is approximately 10 kms, allow 2 – 3 hours.

Sculpture Trail

Bridport Sculpture Trail showcases installations by local artists. They are all positioned along or near the Bridport Green Route.

This walk is approximately 3-miles around the market town, allow 1-2 hours to complete.
