Dorset’s Country Parks

A visit to a country park is a great value day out and they often have activities and facilities for the whole family.

Moors Valley Country Park and Forest

At an impressive 1000 acres, Moors Valley is Dorset’s largest park, with plenty of cycle and walking trails, play trail and play areas, tree-top trail, narrow-gauge railway, golf course, fishing lake and lots more.

Durlston Country Park and Nature Reserve

Durlston offers stunning coastal views, walking trails, superb geology and is a popular place for wildlife lovers – the cliff top path is one of the best places to spot dolphins and seabirds. The Great Globe is one of the largest stone spheres in the world.

Upton Country Park

With plenty of large open spaces, a formal walled garden, splash fountain, walking routes, dog training areas and play area, this water-side country park also has bird hides to watch wildlife on the edge of the impressive Hole’s Bay.

Lodmoor Country Park

Just a short stroll from Weymouth, Lodmoor Country Park offers a play area, model railway, pitch and putt and green gym, within walking distance of RSPB Lodmoor Nature Reserve.
