A Bristol based capella band with a love of traditional songs embark on their 2024 tour, with the premiere of their latest track & video ‘Drop the Hammer,’ a captivating ode to mining around the Jurassic Coast.
The Longest Johns are a Bristol-based acapella folk band covering everything from maritime songs to experimental contemporary folk. In a few short years, the group have gone from singing sea shanties in a kitchen to appearances at International folk festivals, worldwide tours and TV appearances, and have also gained a huge online following as the face of the 2021 sea shanty revival with their cover of the 19th century anthem ‘Wellerman’, which reached millions of new fans all across the globe.
The Longest Johns kick start their 2024 tour with a special performance at the Mowlem Theatre, Swanage, following the release of their 5th studio album ‘Voyage’.
Arranged by Dorset’s arts charity Artsreach, this concert will also feature a premiere of a brand new track, ‘Drop the Hammer,’ a captivating ode to quarrying around the Jurassic Coast which features local singers from across Dorset, commissioned by Artsreach with the support of Dorset National Landscape Sustainable Development Fund.

The performance will be held at The Mowlem Theatre, Swanage BH19 1DD, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets costs £15.00 for adults, £10.00 for under 18’s.
