Celebrating the great tastes of Dorset

Discover the people, places and flavours that make Dorset Food tells the story of a place, and in Dorset, it’s a story thousands of years in the making.

From fishing boats landing their catch along the Jurassic Coast to farmers, growers, makers and producers working the county’s fields, orchards and rolling hills, Dorset’s food and drink is shaped by the landscapes that surround us and the people who care for them.

Dorset Food & Drink is a Community Interest Company bringing together a network of local businesses, producers, hospitality venues and food champions who are passionate about celebrating everything Dorset has to offer.  Originally established by Dorset National Landscape in 2011, the organisation now supports and promotes more than 100 businesses connected by a shared love of local food, drink and place.

But Dorset Food & Drink is about more than what’s grown, reared, caught, brewed, baked or made here. Through events, storytelling, partnerships and community initiatives, it helps connect people with the landscapes, traditions and seasonal rhythms that shape Dorset’s food culture.

Its Taste the Story campaign shines a light on the people behind Dorset’s food and drink, sharing authentic stories from farmers, fishermen, growers, makers and producers whose work helps shape the county’s identity.

These stories reveal the connections between food, landscape, heritage and community, offering a deeper understanding of what makes Dorset unique.

Whether you’re discovering a farm shop, meeting a maker, exploring a farmers’ market, eating fresh local seafood or uncovering the story behind a favourite product, every experience offers a taste of Dorset and the people behind it.
