Improving Signage Updates

Our work to improve signage is always done in partnership, usually comes out of a request for help, and is almost always funded by partners, with a small project management fee to Dorset National Landscape. If you would like support with signage improvements in your local area, please get in touch with Sally King, Visitor, Tourism and Access Manager to see if we can help.

Barrs Lane Playing Field, 2025

Following on from previous work with Charmouth Parish Council, they asked us to provide a new interpretation panel for the popular Barrs Lane Playing Field, promoting the nature and wildlife found in the area.

The new panel is absolutely beautiful and the whole Council are thrilled with it.  Thank you so much to you Sally, and Rowena, for your expertise.” Lisa, Charmouth Parish Council

Lyme Regis Signage, 2025

Lyme Regis has benefited from replacement signage along Church Cliff Walk, from the Mary Anning statue to East Beach. Working with the RNLI and other key partner, 6 new signs have been installed, using the original posts to reduce cost and wastage, providing clear safety information to everyone along the walkway before they head onto the beaches.

Replacement Signs at Eype

A new safety sign at Eype has been designed and installed to replace an old one which was falling onto the beach, and an additional small double-sided sign has been installed to warn people there is no beach access to West Bay and to use the South West Coast Path.
