The Swanage Streams Partnership launches at a community event on the 26th November
The Swanage Streams Partnership is launching on the evening of the 26th November at The Swanage School. It’s a collaboration between the National Trust, community group Planet Purbeck, Swanage Town Council, and ourselves. We’ve been beavering away trying to better understand the threats facing the Swanage streams and work out ways of helping to improve it. We are keen to draw in local people to help resolve the issues such as drainage, pollution, nutrient levels and struggling natural habitat – making it a significant community project.
Ian Rees, our Countryside Projects Manager, said: “We are particularly interested in small streams like Swan Brook that aren’t designated, have no spotlight on them and often aren’t on anyone’s agenda to look after them. So if no one else is doing it, it’s up to us.”
