Experience the Jurassic Coast through the eyes of acclaimed artist Cathy Veale this August at Durlston Country Park
Durlston’s Fine Foundation Gallery welcomes renowned watercolour artist Cathy Veale for Interaction of Light, an exhibition celebrating the beauty, movement and ever-changing moods of Dorset’s coastline.
Running from 7-23 August, the exhibition features a collection of original paintings and limited-edition prints inspired by the dramatic cliffs, sparkling waters and unique landscapes of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Known for her distinctive style, Cathy captures the interplay of light, colour and texture with remarkable depth and luminosity.
Drawing inspiration from years spent exploring both land and sea, Cathy’s work reflects a deep connection to Dorset’s coastal environment. From sweeping seascapes to intimate studies of water and shoreline, visitors can immerse themselves in artworks that reveal the natural beauty of one of Britain’s most iconic coastal landscapes.
Shannon Dugdale, Ranger at Durlston Country Park, said:
“We’re very excited for Cathy to be exhibiting here in our gallery. It really is the perfect setting for her paintings, with its spectacular sea views.”
Cathy’s work has been regularly selected for exhibition alongside some of Britain’s leading watercolour artists, including at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Royal Society of Marine Artists in London.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast, admirer of the Jurassic Coast, or simply looking for inspiration, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience Dorset’s landscape through the eyes of one of its most celebrated artists.
