Part of our special series of outdoor, seasonal events taking place across the county, these animated and facilitated ‘walk-shops’ invite you to join our ongoing conversation about how people and place interact through seasons, folklore, wildlife and personal memories of family life and community traditions.

The walk-shops will comprise small groups of up to 15 people outdoors and include a chance to hear folktales, traditional songs and poetry linked to natural landscapes, led my Talking Tent hosts Sarah Acton and Martin Maudsley. We also look forward to hearing your own stories, memories and ideas about Dorset’s diverse nature, heritage and culture as we chat along the way.

We are collecting audio recordings of stories throughout the project and you may be invited to share your story at the end of the walk if you would be interested.

All events will be run in accordance to the latest Covid-safe guidelines.

The walk-shop will be a relaxed stroll of around 1 mile along well-made paths, open ground, occasionally rougher pathways and mainly level.
