As of 1st April 2026, the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme is open for applications.
Now in its 6th consecutive year, the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme is once again open for applications. The even better news is that the programme has been extended for a further 3 years, until March 2029.
FiPL offers funding to farmers and land managers in National Landscapes and National Parks for projects that improve nature, tackle climate change, support people’s access to the countryside and strengthen nature friendly farm businesses.
Here in the Dorset National Landscape, £3 million has been invested in 220 projects since 2021, supporting farmers and land managers to better care for this special place . You can find more information about all the previously supported projects in Dorset here: Supported projects | Dorset National Landscape
It is best to discuss the project with us before making a full application. Email us a brief outline of your intended project so we can log it on the system and get back to you to discuss further.
Many applicants find working with a farm adviser on their application can really maximise the benefits to the national landscape and the farm business. The FiPL team will signpost to advisers if required.
