Project Description

Kate Parish, local resident and Stephen White, Buckland Newton’s Rights of Way Officer have been working together with the support of Buckland Newton Parish Council, since 2019 to raise local funds in order to slowly replace wooden stiles with self closing metal gates in the Parish of Buckland Newton in order to provide greater accessibility particularly by older people to the local rights of way.

This project started when the stile, linking Duntish to the footpaths that led to the village shop in Buckland Newton, began to disintegrate and local residents found it difficult to safely climb over the stile.
