Dorset Community Tree Fund

We are delighted to announce the Dorset Community Tree Fund is now open for applications.

Trees are vital in tackling the climate crisis through carbon capture & storage, they support wildlife and help slow water flow and prevent flooding.

This fund aims to support communities to achieve these aims and ensure our trees thrive.

New House Farm (c) Ines Cavill / FiPL

Parish and town councils, schools and constituted community groups within the Dorset Council area can apply for a grant to help towards planning, planting and caring for trees in their area. This could also include a contribution to tools and equipment, support for hedge projects, setting up community orchards and holding community engagement events.  Applications can be submitted throughout the year until all funds have been allocated.

The Dorset Community Tree Fund is funded by Dorset Council and co-ordinated by the Dorset National Landscape Team.
