About the event

Immerse yourself in Bonsley Wood with this forest school session for young and old alike. Hazel coppice was once a common feature of the Dorset landscape and supports much wildlife including dormice. Find out more and have a go at traditional coppice activities such as whittling butter knives and tongs … and there is bound to be a camp fire and cuppa too!

Morning or Afternoon sessions available.

This event is part of our Landscape for Life Festival, celebrating 60 years of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We’ve asked some very special people who live and work in this rich and vibrant landscape to share the places they love with you. Join artists, story-tellers, wildlife experts, geologists, farmers, archaeologists to uncover what makes the landscape so outstanding… and find your own place to love along the way.
