This is a hill you don’t have to walk up! Park in the small car park opposite and then enjoy the the stunning views from the top. From here you can take in a breath taking panoramic of the Blackmore Vale and enjoy a sense of calm and tranquility.
Take a picnic and sit a while or walk to Turnworth Down or Blandford Forest, following the waymarked trail, the Wessex Ridgeway. This area is especially beautiful at sunset.
There are plenty of footpaths and bridleways to choose from in this area. The Dorset Explorer is an on line mapping system which you can use to find Rights of Way in the area (and around Dorset).
Or walk, bike or ride this suggested 6.5 mile Irwene Courtney to Ibberton section of the Wessex Ridgeway Trail which goes through this area.
If you’re feeling adventurous Okeford Hill Bike Park is a mountain bikers dream, with over 400 feet of alpine style downhill trails. The site is aimed at intermediate to experienced off-road enthusiasts and serviced with an efficient uplift provided by open top Land Rovers towing bicycle trailers.
