Nature Calling Dorset film celebrates wonderful project
New film captures the magic of the Nature Calling project which created a brand new Giant for Dorset.
New film captures the magic of the Nature Calling project which created a brand new Giant for Dorset.
We’re excited to share this brand new film showing the magical Consequences project, one of the bigger Nature Calling projects which took place in Dorset National Landscape, with local producers Activate Performing Arts.
Becca Gill and her company Radical Ritual, including author Sita Brahmachari and artist Grace Emily Manning worked with members of community groups in Yeovil to create a new creature that was unveiled next to the Cerne Abbas Giant in September.
Visits to the countryside, writing workshops, ink and mark making workshops explored nature, local folklore as well as people’s feelings of belonging.
As Jusna Mustafa from Thrive said:
“Traditionally people of colour don’t feel comfortable in spaces like this, so it’s been really good to work with the different organisations that have arranged this, to bring people out into the countryside. I think that’s really helped. In future… people will go into those green spaces and feel like, well actually this is for everybody.”
A GIANT THANKS to the wonderful Yeovil groups who took part in the project – we’ve loved working with you and look forward to more trips out to the Dorset countryside in 2026!
