With financial support from Defra, we have been able to improve Access for All by upgrading rights of way and creating new routes which are accessible to everyone, including wheelchair users and people with limited mobility.
After delays and uncertainties due to mains gas issues, a brand new multi-user route running from Chideock to Quarr Lane has been completed. The route is nearly a mile in length (and will hopefully be extended with the next round of A4A funds) and has been wholeheartedly welcomed by the local community. The views are amazing too!

At Brownsea Island, Access for All has funded improved access to the famous and popular Tern Hide which means everyone can now enjoy this peaceful spot.
At Kingcombe National Nature Reserve, a new access ramp with oak handrails into the Visitor Centre, boardwalk and track improvements, new surfacing for easy access to the toilets and new nonslip treads on boardwalks down to the river have made the site safer and much more accessible for everyone.
Three sections of public bridleway have been resurfaced and improved in the Piddle Valley. Pedestrians, including school children, were walking on the A road due to poor surfacing and mud along the paths. The new route links up three communities and runs parallel to the A road, providing a much safer and easier option for pedestrians.
Multi-user routes have also been resurfaced and improved at Hilfield Nature Reserve and West Bay. The latter links to a well-used tramper route from Highlands End holiday park, greatly widening opportunities for exploration for everyone, and offering fantastic sea views.
