Complete your application

Please note we will not be able to progress your application without all of the supporting information and documentation detailed in the Checklist in place. Make sure in particular you have included:

  • A signed application form with SBI and RLR numbers clearly shown, and details of any SFI or CS or other (eg BNG) payments you receive that apply to these parcels
  • A fully completed project costs table, including the location of each activity
  • A project map which highlights areas where your project will take place including RLR numbers for the field parcels
  • A selection of ‘before’ photographs that help illustrate your project
  • A countersignature or written consent if you do not have full management control or approval for the land and activities in your application, including their full contact details
  • Quotes to support your costs
  • Evidence of any match funding including value, terms and source(s) of funding
  • Copy of any permissions and consents already secured
  • A bank account in which you would want to be paid for the project
  • Completed ‘Not registered for VAT form’, if applicable
  • A land management plan if you have one
  • A business plan if you have one
  • A copy of your collaborative group’s partnership agreement, if applicable

When you are ready , please send your completed application to FiPL Support Officer Ben Mogg ben.mogg@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk who will send acknowledgement and supply a unique reference number.

For applications under £10k
We aim to make a decision within 6 to 8 weeks of the date of submission.

Applications over £10k
Or from applicants who have received multiple grants previously need to be considered by the Local Assessment Panel (LAP).

How is the decision made?

The Panel is made up of 8 to 12 people. It includes representatives from the Dorset National Landscape, Natural England, representatives from the farming and land management community, as well as wildlife, access and other specialists.

To be considered at the May Local Assessment Panel

Applications need to be submitted by 30th April 2026.

To be considered at the June Local Assessment Panel

Applications need to be submitted by 12th June 2026.
