Char Valley Parish Council got in touch to explore how they could help improve the state of the River Char and Monkton Wyld Stream.  We asked residents what their concerns were for the river and have set out how we can tackle these in a State of the River Char and Monkton Wyld Stream report.  Delivery was curtailed by the Covid 19 pandemic, but has now begun in earnest, with events and walks raising the profile of the river, and work to enhance the habitat, create areas of Natural Flood Management and remove Himalayan balsam taking place.  We are also working with farmers to make improvements to land management that will benefit water quality.
